Exchange Program Sponsor
Purpose Statement
An Exchange Program Sponsor serves as a primary contact for managing and overseeing host school responsibilities; coordinates and communicates the timelines, activities, and logistical details of sponsored trip(s) while presenting the Ankeny School District in a professional manner, and manages the exchange budget following all district fiduciary responsibilities and processes.

Reports To: Building Principal Or Designee.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate regularly with partner school sponsors.
- Determine dates for hosting and/or travel to other countries and partner school schedules for the period of the stay.
- Communicate with school administration, families, and community partners all relevant details, permissions and approvals.
- Coordinates and communicates the timelines, activities, and stay logistical details including but not limited to securing host families, scheduling transportation, determining calendar of activities/events.
- Manage exchange budget following all district fiduciary responsibilities and processes.
- Leads annual processes necessary to ensure longevity of exchange such as board approval for hosting and trips, updates to partnerships, etc.
- Serves as primary contact for managing and overseeing host school responsibilities.
Other Functions
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work without close supervision.
- Demonstrate integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Is respectful and appropriately interacts with staff, students, and visitors.
- Uphold and adhere to safety rules and policies of the Ankeny Community School District safety program.
- Support the goals and objectives of the school district and follow all district policies.
- Demonstrate the ability to attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to district operations.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
- Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Working Environment
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing and walking. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress.

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Terms of Employment
Work year established by the Superintendent; Salary according to schedule adopted annually.
