Substitute Nutrition Services
Purpose Statement
The position of Substitute Nutrition Services is assigned to a specific kitchen or serving area by the food service supervisor and is supervised by the manager in the kitchen or designated cook at the transport school. A Substitute Nutrition Services worker is required to perform general kitchen work and may assist with cooking.
Job Title: Substitute Nutrition Services
Daily Rate of Pay: $14.65/hour
Reports To: Kitchen manager or designated cook
Wage/Hour Status: Temporary/Seasonal
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrates aptitude for successful performance of tasks.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate
Essential Functions
- Reports for work with appropriate uniform (clean white top, slacks or skirt, vinyl shoes with safe soles, and same dress code as for regular employees) at assigned time and place.
- Reports to manager or designated cook for job assignment.
- Works as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible being sure to ask questions if unsure about something.
- Performs other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent.
Other Functions
- Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Working Environment
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing and walking. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform position functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization’s services.
